Win AVI - A Fine Video Converter

Key features:

- Speed Conversion
- Creation of a DVD-Video without the need for an authoring program.

NOTE: The program does not create Menu

- You need not worry about the audio as AC3 and not preserve the original audio quality on final DVD. WinAVI does it automatically through technology DirectAC3
This is the main screen of WinAVI, we have several conversion options.
We can convert various formats of video files - RMVB, AVI (DivX, XviD), ASF, MOV, RM, WMV, SWF to DVD-Video.
We can also convert to the format: WMV, AVI, RM, VCD / MPEG 1 and MPEG2 ...
Use as an example the conversion to DVD.
Click the circle corresponding to the DVD format
Select the file you want to convert to DVD-Video format.
In this tutorial we will convert an MPEG4 file, which is an AVI file.
To make the conversion you need to have installed the codec that originally gave rise to the file.
If you have VobSub installed, you can use it with WinAVI, to create a DVD with subtitles!
Put the same name for both files (video and subtitles) in the same directory that the process occurs automatically. On the taskbar, next to the time a small green arrow will appear during the process indicating that the caption is inserted, it can be seen in pre-visualization, which option will be explained later.
Select the location where you saved the DVD-Video

Click Advanced

In Output settings, you can set the size of the file you want on the final conversion.
Constant Quality Video-Priority is the video quality
Constant video size - Priority is the size of the DVD.
The second option is the most used ...
On Set chapter length, make the choice of time between the DVD chapters that will create WinAVI. 10 to 15 me is the most widely adopted
Target Format and proportion, always prefer AUTO, but if you are unsure about the choice to be made, can change.
In Preferences you can choose: speed or quality at the time of conversion.
The first option (By speed) makes the process of "encoder" faster, while the second option (By quality) you get a better final quality.
It is recommended By quality.
Audio bitrate in, select the audio quality that will create WinAVI, if the source is MP3, 22400 will suffice. If the movie contains AC3 audio, select Trigger DirectAC3 original movie and the audio will be copied to DVD.

In the Encode tab.

Set in Source Target Rate to AUTO and set in proportion to the Source that you will use.
In Table small, WinAVI will apply a filter in the movie to "soften" some pictures that are with some "noise". Already in hand Increase and decrease picture! needs no comment, when the image is upside down, use this option to correct it.

Click OK to continue .. Click OK again and the conversion process begins.
We can open a window preview but it makes the program takes longer to convert the file.
You can also set the the program to shut down the computer at the end of the conversion process.
You noticed that during the encoding of prcess are being created files ... DVD-Video VOB, Inf ..
Burning the DVD

On the main screen of WinAVI, click Burn
If you have Nero Express, WinAVI will open it as a recording program, otherwise it will use its own recording software.

Considerations:
One can see that WinAVI is a very simple program, however, does quality work and extremely fast

Converting RMVB
In this format we have a nice tutorial on the link below Hangman
This tutorial is based on a tutorial PortalDVDr and may need some adjustments due to new program versions. The goal is to meet the increasingly frequent questions about the program, and thus a definite link within the forum itself, avoiding repetitive replies.
If we want to put a menu on the DVD set, we can import the VOB's for DVD Lab Pro and create a basic menu, simply by opening the program, select the VTS assets 01-0

Selecting Elements to Join and Demultiplex Streams
To better understand the DVD Lab, visit the destadado topic on the program which contains tutorials and explanations about the same.
